Prayer Diary for October

St Albright’s Church, Stanway.       October.

 

Prayer Diary.

1st: We pray for residents of Chapel Road. Remigius, Bishop of Reims. Earl of Shaftsbury, social reformer. We pray for all Deacons who will be Priested in this season. We pray for Blessing on their Ministry.

2nd: We pray for residents of London Road East. We pray for all members of our congregation and those coming for private prayer during “Open Church.”

3rd: We pray for residents of King Coel Road. We pray for our Royal family and all who are taking on new roles and responsibilities.

4th: We pray for residents of Jubilee Close. Francis of Assisi, Founder of Friars Minor. He spent his life ministering to the poor. We pray for those living in poverty.

5th: We pray for the residents of Tollgate Court. We pray for those who have lost their homes or jobs. We pray for all who are struggling. We pray for the work of Food Banks.

6th: We pray for the residents of Barnfields. William Tyndale, Reformation Martyr and Translator, 1536. He translated the Bible from Greek into English. We give thanks for Authors, Poets, Linguists and Musicians.

7th: We pray for residents of Montbretia Close. We pray for the Prime Minister and all in an office of responsibility. We pray for members of our local Parish Council.

8th: We pray for residents of Millers Lane. We pray for our Archbishops, Bishops and all in Church Ministry. We pray for our PCC and Hall Committee.

9th: We pray for the residents of New Farm Road. Denys, Bishop of Paris and Patron Saint of France. We give thanks for the beauty of the changing seasons.

10th: We pray for residents of Badgers Holt. Paulinus, Bishop of York. We pray for the recently Baptised and those families preparing for Baptism.

11th: We pray for residents of Cobble Road. Philip, Deacon: “One of the seven Greek speaking men of good standing.” We pray for students starting new courses at university or college.

12th: We pray for residents of Tyed Croft. Elizabeth Fry, prison reformer. (1780-1845.) Edith Cavell-nurse, who cared for the wounded during the 1st World War. We pray for nurses, doctors and all who work in the Health Service.

13th: We pray for residents of Holiwell Close. Edward the Confessor, King of England (1002-1066.) He began the Royal Patronage of Westminster Abbey. We pray for the work of our local churches and shared Fellowship.

14th: We pray for residents of Osier Close. Esther John, Missionary and Martyr 1929-1960. We pray for peace in the world, and we pray for all areas of unrest and natural disasters.

15th: We pray for residents of Stable Close. Teresa of Avila, Teacher and Founder of many Religious Houses. We pray for our local schools: pupils, teachers and governors.

16th: We pray for residents of Stirrup Mews. Nicholas Ridley& Hugh Latimer, Reformation Martyrs. We pray for all who are ill and all who have asked for our prayers.

17th: We pray for residents of Miles Close. St. Ignatius. 35-107ad. Bishop of Antioch. We pray for all who have Mental Health Issues and all who support and seek to help.

18th: We pray for residents of Saddle Mews. St Luke, the Beloved Physician. He is believed to be the author of the Gospel and the Acts. We pray for Paramedics, Air Ambulance, Emergency Services and the Police Force.

19th: We pray for residents of Oliver’s Lane. Henry Martin 1781-1812. Missionary. He translated the New Testament into Hindustani, Persian and Arabic. We pray for the Safety of all children.

20th: We pray for residents of Radvald Chase. We pray for all who work in prisons and for the work of Prison Chaplains.

21st: We pray for residents of Valley Close. We pray for all who work in retail, especially those who work locally in Stane Park and in Stanway.

22nd: We pray for residents of Wilfred Appleby Mews. We pray for all whose Banns will be called and who will be married in St Albright’s Church. We pray for all couples planning marriage.

23rd: We pray for residents of Ringlet Lane. James of Jerusalem. “Brother of our Lord.” First Bishop of Jerusalem. We pray for all who manage and care for our Church Hall and for those who use it.

24th: We pray for residents of Rose Avenue. We pray for our Brownies, Rainbows, Bright’s, Church Groups and Coffee Mornings.

25th: We pray for residents of Skipper Grove. We pray for those in Care Homes, especially Loganberry Lodge. We pray for all suffering from Dementia and their families.

26th: We pray for residents of St Albright’s Crescent. Alfred the Great, King of the West Saxons. St Cedd, Bishop of Essex 654ad. We pray for all Local Societies and Sports Clubs.

27th: We pray for residents of Rye Close. We pray for the Stanway Residents Association and Stanway Youth Club. We pray for the work of the NSPCC and CAP. (Christians against poverty.)

28th: We pray for residents of Stanfield Close. Simon and Jude, Apostles. We pray for families and time together during Half Term. We pray for all planning a “break away.”

29th: We pray for residents of The Haywain. We pray for all orphans or adopted children. We pray for Adoption Agencies and Foster Carers.

30th: We pray for residents of Plover Road. We pray for the work of the RSPCA and for the welfare and care of all animals.

31st: We pray for residents of Provence Close. Martin Luther, 1483-1546. Responsible for the Protestant Reformation which spread throughout Europe. We pray for all the recently departed and the Bereaved.
