One of my greatest frustrations is the lack of time (and often unwillingness on the part of the faithful) to be able to teach the faith at any depth. How often have I heard it said after a sermon that went just over 12 minutes, ‘ A bit long this morning Father!’
I’m not sure what the answer is, but these pages are an attempt to provide some of the ‘food for the mind’ that I believe is so desperately needed. I remember a cartoon in the late 60’s that showed a sign on the notice board at the entrance to a church which read; ‘Leave your mind here’. And yet in the 21st Centaury we need, I suggest, more than ever a good solid intellectual grounding for our faith.
